It has come to the notice of the Central Organizing Committee (COC) of the Bayelsa Governor's Football Tournament, tagged the Prosperity Cup, that some teams are featuring players that they did not duly register during transfer window.
There are equally cases of some teams exceeding the quota of five additional players signed during the one-week transfer window.
All of these are against the letter and spirit of the rules and regulations governing the Prosperity Cup.
We wish to caution all those involved in this unwholesome acts to desist in their own interest because any player found guilty of the act will be apprehended and prosecuted by the Central Organizing Committee (COC).
In addition to prosecuting the offending players, the affected clubs risk forfeiting any allowances and other monetary benefits due them.
The COC would not condone the attitude of coaches trying to cut corners to win matches as it is committed to protecting the sanctity and integrity of the tournament.
